A group of like-minded professionals having experience of handling difficult situations and crisis management and a strong desire for a passion enhancing pursuit, came together in 2015 to form SEVA to work with grassroots initiatives for effecting positive changes in the lives of underprivileged people and communities. SEVA strives to proactively involve members of the civil society in the development process to bring about sustainable change.
SEVA aims is to contribute to building an inclusive India to enhance the quality of life of people from marginalised and vulnerable communities, by empowering them and catalysing change through innovative and sustainable solutions. We offer knowledge-based solutions, via a high end value added process chain where achievement of objectives is critically dependent on the skills, domain knowledge and experience of the people carrying out the activity. We propose to develop a holistic model to address our nation’s multifaceted development challenges, and contribute to its collective aspirations.
SEVA is focussed on poverty alleviation and eradication of social injustice. SEVA proposes to achieve its objectives through well planned and comprehensive programmes in rural initiatives, social justice, women empowerment, health, education & training, environment protection, arts, culture & heritage, science & technology and disaster preparedness/response etc. Our overall goal is the empowerment of people from poor and marginalised communities leading to improvement in their lives and livelihoods.

Bikas Kumar Ray, based in Mumbai, has long and wide ranging experience in the corporate and social sectors and has held leadership positions in leading PSUs and private sector giants. A Cost Accountant by profession (FCMA), in his professional career spanning 53 years, he has served both in India and abroad. He served in leading PSUs like Fertilizer Corporation of India and Hindustan Paper Corporation. His private sector engagements included TISCO, Indian Oxygen, RPIL, amongst others. His overseas assignment was with Zambia Oxygen. He served/is serving on the Board of Directors of several companies, including Lok Housing & Constructions, Varun Industries, RSM Infrastructures etc. He has been actively involved in providing yeoman services in various spheres and is continuing his endeavours by engaging in a venture to provide services to senior citizens to enable them to lead a dignified post-retirement life.

Sanjib Kumar Bhattacharyya, based in Kolkata, has varied experience in the corporate and social sectors, with a professional career of around 3 decades. An MBA from India’s premier institute IISWBM, and PGP-AFM from IIMA, he served in senior/top management positions in major conglomerates like State Bank Group (SBI Home Finance), India Carbon Group (in its 100% EOU), Lok Group (Infrastructure Finance & Leasing arm), and CEO of an IT/BPO services company in Mumbai. He has served/is serving on the Board of Directors in companies engaged in consultancy, finance, IT software & services, ITES, cement manufacturing, film production & entertainment, real estate, transport & logistics, agri-products etc. He successfully handled matters related to domain knowledge and had an extremely bright, successful and fast rising career graph, with many significant achievements, and has provided consultancy & advisory services to many corporate clients in diverse industries. He has been involved in successfully turning around/revived ailing units, sophisticated state-of-art manufacturing projects, partnered an ISO 9001:2008 software start-up and a multi-product retail chain, helped establish IT services in Bhutan. He was consultant to Bhutan ICT & TA, Thimpu, Bhutan
Alok Ranjan Pati, from Orissa (Bargarh), has been an banker for about 2 decades and is a management graduate from Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB). He worked extensively with State Bank Group (SBI Home Finance), Centurion Bank and HDFC Bank. In his last assignment with HDFC Bank, he was Circle Head in East. In his entire career Alok has worked in both in semi urban / urban and metro locations covering credit, deposits and general banking. During his tenure as Circle Head and Cluster Head, he was assigned branches located in NE, a part of WB and Jharkhand. He has been actively involved in social development activities in spheres like education and financial inclusion. He has served/is serving on the Board of Directors of companies like Samvriddhi Inclusive Growth Network
Sutapa Bhattacharyya, from Kolkata, is a Cost Accountant (FCMA) by profession. Besides engagement as a practitioner, she has been actively involved in social activities. She has been involved in rendering professional services to various PSUs, leading corporate houses and other organisations in diverse sectors/industries, which include Maharatnas, Miniratnas, private sector behemoths & renowned business houses, in diverse sectors/industries like — Banking & Finance, Retail, Manufacturing, Mining, Coal, Oil & Gas, Engineering, Chemicals, Steel, Cement, Healthcare, Plantation, Export Houses, Food Processing, Agro-based Industries, Construction & Real Estate, Transportation & Logistics, Utilities etc.
